About Ms. Snyder

I started learning to play piano with my mother at the early age of 4 years old and never stopped. When I was 13, I became the organist at our local Episcopal church and studied organ as well as piano throughout high school. I went to college in Bloomington, IN at the music school of Indiana University majoring in piano performance and I also continued my organ lessons there. I've been in church music most all of my adult life being the music director at Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian churches . My last church job was playing the piano at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, TN for 19 years before retiring.  I've accompanied college voice and instrumentalist students at UCLA, USC and Univ. of Arizona and Belmont Univ. music school in Nashville TN. I also learned how to play piano music for ballet classes and I've played for classes with the Phoenix Ballet Company and school and the Nashville Ballet Company and school and metro arts studios in Nashville up until my move to Chestertown, MD in July of 2025. It's been a wonderful and varied career of playing a wide variety of music. I've taught private piano students for over 40 years now and continue to love to teach.  I recommend starting piano lessons at age 7 and I've taught adult students who started playing piano in their 60's. I enjoy teaching all levels and ages.
